In 1993, Michael created Halifax production companies Ocean Entertainment and Ocean Digital and soon began directing and producing. He created numerous series and one-offs, including THE FOOD HUNTER (13X30 for Food Network Canada & Food Network USA), THE INN CHEF (65X30 for Food Network Canada & FoxTel Australia), RED HOT AND READY  (65X30 for Global & MenTV), THE HERO'S HERO: The Forgotten life of William Barker (1X60 for History Television, Vision, SCN), MINYAN ON THE MIRA (1X60 for CBC & Vision/TV), and THE SHAG HARBOUR UFO INCIDENT (1X60 for Space,  CBC, & Discovery UK).
In 2002, Michael left Ocean Entertainment to start his new venture, Road House Films. Since that time, Road House has produced such films as Northern Lights: The Canadian UFO Experience, and Visions from the Edge: The Art of Science Fiction. Michael has a particular love for documentaries, and his creative nature has allowed him to successfully take on a variety of roles. He continues to develop new projects, direct and produce, create music soundtracks, and occasionally even still likes to edit.

During his career, Michael has been honoured to receive the following acclamations: Mobius Advertising Award 2004, Gemini nominee 2003, Mercury Award 2003, James Beard Award 2002, Honourable Mention Columbus FF, 1999, 2000 and 2004.
Michael loves spending down time with his three amazing children, Liam, Sam, and Sophie, and cruising the skies as the pilot of his own plane.
